Dominican Republic

Dates: July 3-11, 2010
Cost: $1,600 (program costs, flights, hotel, ground transportation, supplies, food)
*Half of the cost is corporately fundraised through The Ascent
*Half of the cost is raised by each individual (let us know if you need help!)

Project: The organization we work with in the DR, Solid Rock Missions, will set up all of our work projects. They will most likely include holding a Vacation Bible School and painting/maintenance projects at or near that same school.

Travel: We will leave Denver on Saturday, July 3rd, layover in Miami, and then fly into Santo Domingo, DR. Our Solid Rock Missions host will pick us up from the airport and transport us to Hotel Lina in a private bus where we will be spending the night. Our private bus will take us to San Juan on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, July 10th, our private bus will take us to Barcelo Capella Resort near the airport. We will spend the night there, debriefing and playing to conclude our trip. The private bus will take us to the airport on Sunday morning, July 11th, for our flight back to Denver via a Miami layover.

Team Meetings: We will meet as a team one Sunday afternoon per month (March, April, May) and once a week in June. We ask that each team member make it a priority to be at each Team Meeting.

The registration process:
-Email Susan at susan@theascentonline.com to express interest by Feb. 10th. Make sure to include in the email THREE dates and times of your availability from Feb. 17th – Feb. 25th for an interview with Susan and/or Gilby.
-We (student and Susan/Gilby) will determine from your one-on-one interview whether this trip is right for you AND you right for this trip. Decisions will be made by Feb. 28th.
-Please bring a $250.00 deposit to your interview. It will of course be refunded if the fit is not right for this trip.

-Updated immunizations
